Unibanco is the most active financial institution in Brazil in terms of project
advice and concessions. Over the past seven years, it has structured more than
70 projects totaling R$ 19.6 billion in investments and R$ 8.3 billion in credit
transactions.
Projects focus on the transportation, energy, basic sanitation, oil and gas, steel,
agribusiness, pulp and paper, automotive and telecom industries. The main activities
developed in this service include:
- Project advice. Identification/mitigation of risks, financial-economic assessment,
identification and structuring of financing sources, assistance in the formalization
of contracts and structuring a package of guarantees.
- Advice to companies and governments in concession and public-private partnership
(PPP) processes.
- Assistance in seeking equity for projects.
As the leader of the National Association of Investment Bank's (Anbid) project
finance ranking from 2001 to 2004, Unibanco was elected the Best Project Finance
Bank in Latin America - having won consecutive awards in 2003 and 2004 - Emerging
Markets. |
